trip to albuquerque

hello friends and family.  drove down to albuquerque to take a gluten free vegan baking class at wonderful annapurna world vegetarian cafe.  the owner of the restaurant made my day when she told me she is hoping to open a restaurant in denver.  strolled around old towne albuquerque than drove out to corales.  after that we ate dinner at the thai vegan restaurant.  truly fabulous.  in my letter to all of you I mentioned Bart has changed his diet.  Bart started his journey to the world of vegan raw feb 26th and has been staying true and strong since.  We need to get the mucus out of his body and also detox the SAD (standard american diet)so we can stop the progression of the inbalance.  At Hippocrates he will be 100% raw and hopefully love it and respond so well that he gladly continues.  We are lodging at the KOA in central albuquerque in one of there one room kabins (yes they spell kabin with a k) and the evening is beautiful.  Should get down  to hi 50s or low 60s with a breeze.  Need to sign off for now.  We need to go for a walk.

Road trip to Las Vegas, New Mexico today. Bart wanting to visit The Historic Plaza Hotel, built in 1882 purchased by the current owner in 1982 and underwent major restoration in 2009. The hotel is beautiful and is said to have the ghost of Byron T Milla, owner of the hotel in the first half of the 20th century. It is said he usually visits on the third floor, room 310. Bart and I are in room 309 but focuses on woman who are alone and traveling salesmen. We drove first to Santa Fe, 310 miles from home, 4hrs and 15 min travel time. See first at Body, Body is a yoga studio, boutique, raw cafe that we often stop at when coming thru. We picked up a slice of choc/hazelnut raw cheesecake and a couple raw choc truffles. Delicious! Next we went downtown Santa fe and visited Santa Fe Hemp, one of my favorite shops on Waters next to Pasquale restaurant where I purchased a new hemp tee shirt and numerous bumper stickers that I can decorate my cubicle with. Also got Bart a pair of organic cotton socks. The shop has numerous treasures made by local artists from cards to hand made jewels, soaps and bags. A must stop for anyone interested. We walked the streets window shopping and then headed over to Annapurna Restaurant. Our top pick when visiting Santa Fe or Albuquerque for the most incredible vegan/ gluten free dishes. I cannot explain just how wonderful it is to be traveling and to stop at a restaurant that serves steamed fresh vegetables. Sounds crazy because it's so simple, but you don't find it anywhere. Fresh produce. Of course they have this incredible GF/vegan gravy if you want it and so so much more. Check out there website if your headed this way, you won't regret it. On our way back to Las Vegas we just missed a hail storm because it was piled a couple inches high on the side of the highway. The sun was out for us and everything smelled so clean and fresh. Tomorrow we are headed to the Mntezuma hot springs, just 6 miles from here before we head home. Need some shut eye. Will be back soon.
